Encouraging young students has always been an important mission of AOGS. The Best Student Poster Competition (BSPC) is a means for students to highlight their achievements and demonstrate their ability in scientific presentations. Award criteria are below. Please also take note of the rules and requirements to follow.
- One award minimum per Section, and 1 additional award for every 20 student posters.
- Only the presenting/first student author may be given the award
- Best Student Poster Judging is from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Contestants must be present the entire time
- Poster Presentations will be evaluated based on:
- Scientific quality and novelty
- Poster design
- Ability of student presenter to answer questions
- Awards will be presented at the Closing Ceremony (last day of the conference) and each winner will receive:
- A Certificate signed by AOGS President and Section President
- Complimentary Registration for the next AOGS Annual Meeting

Eligibility
Only full-time individual students are eligible (Postdocs are not eligible).

Competition Rules
- If an abstract is selected for an oral presentation, the author must choose between accepting the oral presentation and participating in the poster competition.
- Only one poster (abstract) per student can be entered into the competition.
- The student must be the first author of the abstract, the major contributor to the material presented, and the person presenting the poster.
- The majority of material should not have been previously presented in another session at the meeting.
- A digital poster (as in the following presenter guide) must also be submitted.
- Only the presenting/first student author may be given the Award

Students Desiring To Join the Best Student Competition MUST

Upload their e-posters in MARS before the portal closes. Judges will preview submitted posters in advance and rank them according to scientific merit and poster design.
15 June to 12 July 2026 – Contestants Upload E-Posters in MARS
The cut off time is 23:59 on the deadline date (GMT+8)
Steps to Follow
- Sign-in on MARS with your email and password
- Click on “Upload Presentation” on the left menu.
Recommended Image Size
A0 Portrait Format (1189mm Height x 841mm Width)
16 Megapixels, or 4680 x 3310 pixels at 100 dpi
- 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Best Student Poster Judging. Contestants must be present the entire time.
- Failure to abide by and of the above rules constitutes automatic disqualification from the competition.
