The AOGS Fellows programme recognises sustained contributions to geoscience. Fellowship may also recognise a specific scientific breakthrough, innovation or leadership role. It is a career-level distinction intended principally for mid- and senior-career scientists.

The complete package must be submitted through MARS and must include:
Calls for nominations should be announced at least nine months before the next AOGS Annual General Meeting. If awarded, AOGS Fellowship is conferred at an Annual General Meeting.

The AOGS Fellows programme was established in 2021. Its policy and nomination requirements were revised in 2026. Superseded versions should be retained in the policy archive and should not appear as current requirements.
