Early Career Researcher Distinguished Lecture

Out of the present two Distinguished Lectures (DLs) in each AOGS section every year one shall be delivered by an early career researcher including post-doctoral researchers under the title Early Career Researcher Distinguished Lecture (ECR-DL). The age limit of the ECR-DL is 35 years of age or no more than 7 years after successfully passing doctoral level degree. The selection of ECR-DL is the responsibility of the sections, and should be approved by the AOGS council. The duration of ECR-DL and other benefits are same as DLs.

Y Kamide Early Career Researcher Award

For Implementation from 2017

  1. Out of the Section ECR-DLs, one will be selected by the Council for the “Early Career Researcher Award” in the following year. Only those who submit one or more papers to “Geoscience Letters”, official journal of AOGS, can be eligible to be considered for selection.

  2. The award is named the “Y Kamide Early Career Researcher Award” or “Kamide Award” in short in honour of Professor Yohsuke Kamide, one of three major founders of AOGS.

  3. The award winner will:
    1. Receive a certificate, to be presented by AOGS at the General Assembly
    2. Be allowed a two-minute acceptance speech following the receipt of the certificate
    3. Deliver an evening lecture during the AOGS Annual Meeting
    4. Be entitled to complimentary registration to attend three consecutive AOGS Annual Meetings, starting with the award year and two following years.
      The purpose of the complimentary registrations is to defray the costs of attending the annual meetings to share research findings, helping them gain better foothold in geosciences
