Brief
Description
Comets
are unique primitive objects that play a special role in
our quest to understand the origin and early history of
the solar system. The objective of this session is to obtain
a better understanding of the comets in many respects such
as the chemical composition and abundances of the various
elements, the physical and chemical processes of comets
involved in formation from the interstellar dust and evolution
to planetesimals and the nature of solar wind interaction
with the cometary coma. This session will specially focus
on the topics which can relate the current knowledge on
comets from the ground observations, the laboratory experiments
and the previous space missions to the experiments conducted
by the future space missions such as Stardust and Rosetta.
This session is going to be held in right time just after
apparition of two great comets in early 2004.
