Brief Description
The exploration of Mars and Venus plays a special role in the study of the climate systems and their evolution on terrestrial planets. Mars is now being extensively explored by several spacecraft missions, and new Venus missions are also proceeding. The objective of this session is to discuss the current state of knowledge of the plasma environments, atmospheres, surfaces, and interiors of Mars and Venus. Contributions describing the results of recent spacecraft missions, ground-based observations, re-analysis of the data from early missions, theoretical work including numerical modeling, and the prospects of future exploration are welcome. The session will include both solicited talks and contributed papers.
