Deep Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste: State-of-the-Art and Perspectives

Brief Description
This session intends to provide an overview of different radwaste disposal projects and concepts, in America, Europe and Asia-Oceania. Topics as: (1) tailoring designs to local conditions, (2) tectonic influences on deep repositories, (3)near-field and far-field interactions and (4) role and importance of biogeochemistry will be addressed. Other topics relating to radwaste disposal (natural analogues, prospective) could be considered as well.
