Brief
Description
The
Asian region is one of the fast growing regions in terms
of both industrial and agricultural activities. Recent field
campaigns have demonstrated increased levels of atmospheric
pollutants (aerosols and trace gases) over this region.
This could have adverse effects on the regional environment
and climate. Long-range transport of pollutants in and out
of this region is an important issue not only for this region
but also on a globally. The proposed session will address
the following themes: (a) Transport and transformation of
pollutants. (b) Impact of pollutants on regional radiation
budget and climate. (c) Transport of trace gases across
tropical tropopause.
