Brief
Description
This
session includes all topics encompassing the physical, chemical,
and biological processes and interactions among land, ocean,
and atmosphere. Papers solicited covering physical aspects
will include topics such as oasis formation, desertization;
land breeze circulation, sea breeze circulations; large
scale interaction such as Monsoon and ITCZ; surface momentum,
heat, and radiative fluxes; topographic steering of currents
and winds; radiative balances; wind erosion and alongshore
transport in the water column; cross-shelf transport of
biological and chemicals materials in all compartments;
numerical modeling and prediction; system integration and
assessment; and forecasting, In addition, chemical and biological
aspects are anticipated to include topics such as pollution
transport and transformation processes; dry and wet processing;
and interactions with coastal flora in both the atmosphere
and ocean. The session, where possible, will place emphasis
on innovative approaches which address key issues which
involve new measurement methods, new modeling approaches,
combined approaches of solving problems using statistical
and dynamical modeling tools including coupling among land,
ocean, and atmosphere.
