Brief
Description
Population
explosion has lead to a drastic change in hydrological cycle,
which has impacts on human environment, flood, water paucity,
water quality and other issues. Global climate change may
worsen these problems. Water variability stemming from rapid
population growth and climate change is a big menace for
sustainability in water resources management. Elaborating
comprehensive and basin-wide water policy is essential to
cope with the increasing water variability. This special
session will focus on this topic. Emphasis will be put on
the Monsoon Asia region. The modalities to secure a sound
water policy out of case studies will be discussed towards
further case-based studies.
