Brief Description
The biogeochemistry of elements such as C, N, P, Si, Fe is largely
influenced by the activities of marine organisms. In this session we
like to discuss the interactions between ecosystems and cycling of
elements in the open ocean. Of special interest is the question how
biogeochemical cycles, marine ecosystems, and their interactions respond
to global change which includes warming, decrease of pH associated with
anthropogenic CO2 invasion, and change in stratification (compare OA4
for biogeochemistry in coastal area).
