Brief Description
Remarkable marine archaeological discoveries have been made at several locations in India, Japan, Taiwan and Peoples Republic of China in the recent past. The latest discovery in Cambay in the west coast of India shows a settlement spread over several tens of sq. km. and the artifacts collected date back to 8000 years BC. Similar astounding discoveries are reported from elsewhere in Asia. The session proposes to bring marine archaeologists and related scientists together and report their findings and have a comparative study. Being a fast developing area of research, exchange of experience will be extremely useful.
