NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology [former CRL]) performs space weather forecast as well as research in space weather. The variation of space
environment due to solar activity causes serious damages such as satellite failure,
communication interruption and bombarding of astronauts.

Space weather is characterized by the interactions among region from the sun to the upper atmosphere. We conduct high-level analysis and modeling studies along with remote sensing and in situ observations in order to understand the mechanism of space environment variations.
